Medicare Changes in 2018

Each January there are some changes in your Medicare benefits. The deductible for Part A has increased from $1316 in 2017 to $1340 in 2018. This deductible applies each time that you are admitted to the hospital. If you spend some time in a Skilled Nursing Facility in 2018, Medicare pays all charges for the first 20 days. You are responsible for $167.50 per day for days 21 through 100. The deductible for Medicare Part B (doctor visits, lab work, imaging, physical therapy, medical equipment, etc) stays the same as 2017 at $183 per year. If you have a Medicare Supplement or a Medicare Advantage Plan, your plan may pay some of these costs on your behalf. Here is a link for more detailed information.
