QUESTIONS ABOUT TRANSITION
Q: Do I have to pay my January 2022 premium in advance?
A-1: If you are keeping the same insurance company in 2022, the billing method that you are using in 2021 will continue next year. You do not need to pay in advance.
A-2: If you have a different insurance company in 2022, then yes, you need to pay the January premium in advance. The insurance company will have all your policy information that was transferred from Healthcare.gov. However, they will not activate your policy until they receive the January payment.
Q: I received information from Ambetter that there was a problem with the payment that was set up when I enrolled. Is that correct?
A: Yes, Ambetter experienced a technical “glitch” that resulted in the loss of some payment information. Check your bank account or credit card to find out if a payment has been posted yet. If not, then please go ahead and pay the January premium. You may also need to set up recurring payments again.
